本圖集借鑒聯(lián)合國環(huán)境署的環(huán)境變化制圖思想，以遙感影像為主體，輔以地圖、圖片、照片、表格、文字等，制作不同專題的環(huán)境變化圖，直觀、可視化表達(dá)環(huán)境變化中的定性和定量信息，以期為環(huán)境管理機(jī)構(gòu)和社會(huì)公眾提供易于理解的反映環(huán)境變化的科學(xué)證據(jù)和信息，建立起科學(xué)家、環(huán)境管理者與社會(huì)公眾之間的紐帶，增強(qiáng)公眾對(duì)我國環(huán)境變化的科學(xué)知識(shí)和保護(hù)意識(shí)。 本圖集包括八大圖組，即人口與環(huán)境序圖、城鎮(zhèn)化與城市擴(kuò)展，湖泊環(huán)境變化，濕地環(huán)境變化，森林采伐、保護(hù)與恢復(fù)，土地沙化與荒漠化及其治理，重大工程影響，自然災(zāi)害及其防治。
